Written for all locations
This beautifully illustrated book was written to fill a gap in the book market. All previous books were specifically written for keepers in Europe or USA. Living in South Africa at the time, it was apparent that more information was needed for other chameleon keepers who lived in ‘non-standard’ locations.
The title reflects that the book was originally published in South Africa, but the details found in the book will be useful to anyone who is interested in chameleons, regardless of their location.
Exotic Chameleons in South Africa, their care and breeding is the result of years of personal experience gained in different countries, including the UK, South Africa and Malaysia. Other keepers in different countries have shared their experiences. This book covers the challenges faced by keepers in temperate and tropical environments.
Some of the information, such as UV fall off due to distance, is rarely discussed in other books.
The book includes a section on the colour morphs of Panther chameleons and discusses several species in detail, grouping them as follows:
- Malagasy chameleons (Panther, Carpet, Oustalet’s, Parson’s
- Mountain chameleons (Jackson’s, Fischer’s, Werner’s/Poroto, Usambara)
- Other chameleon species (Veiled, Meller’s)
